The Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists, in collaboration with the Neurosurgeons’ Association of Sri Lanka, successfully conducted a two-day workshop on Intractable Trigeminal Neuralgia on October 24th and 25th at the NHSL Neuro Trauma Theatre and the NH Collection Hotel in Colombo. This event was led by Prof. H. V. Easwer from India, the workshop focused primarily on hands-on training in radiofrequency ablation techniques for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. Participants also benefited from additional sessions featuring video presentations on microvascular decompression procedures.

This collaborative event brought together neurologists, anesthesiologists, and neurosurgeons from across the country, fostering an invaluable opportunity for skill development and knowledge exchange aimed at enhancing the management of one of the devastating intractable focal facial pain disorders in Sri Lanka.

The Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists extends its heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Easwer, Head of the Department at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Trivandrum, as well as to Dr. Nirukshan Jayaweera, President of the Neurosurgeons’ Association of Sri Lanka, and all the participants for their enthusiastic engagement and contributions, which were instrumental in the success of this event.
