World Brain Day

The workshop organized in connection with World Brain Day was successfully conducted for the staff of Commercial Bank on 25th June 2026 at the Staff Development Centre, Commercial Bank, Colombo 02.

Dr Dilum Palliyeguruge, President of the Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists, served as the resource person for the event. The workshop was conducted under the theme, “Neurology for Longevity: Practical Strategies to Maximize Your Healthspan and Brain Health.”

 

An awareness session was organized in collaboration with the Ratnapura Clinical Society, on 1st July 2026 at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital. Dr Dilum Palliyeguruge, President of the Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists, served as the resource person for the event. The session was conducted under the theme, “Neurology for Longevity”.

The World Brain Day 2026 Media Seminar was successfully held at the Health Promotion Bureau premises in collaboration with the Directorate of Mental Health. Representing the Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists (ASN), Dr Dulmini Weerathunga and Dr Dunya Luke introduced the significance of World Brain Day and provided public awareness on selected neurological conditions, including dementia, stroke, and epilepsy. The event was also broadcast live on YouTube, with active media engagement contributing to wider public outreach.
